Sometimes The Guardian is pulp, but sometimes they run pieces like this, and I love them for it. Itemising the movies, books, art exhibitions and events coming to the UK in 2010. Feminism is alive and well.

Also, news from Mamapalooza in New York - they have found a premises in which to house The Museum of Motherhood. They just need to raise the funds. More info here.

What is happening in Australia in 2010??

I can answer my own question.
WEL is hosting a conference on April 10 & 11 called F: A Festival,A Conference, A Future, in Sydney.
Their newsletter also reminds me about International Women's Day March on Sat 6 March, in Sydney.
Also, Young Media Australia is hosting a conference called Growing Up Fast and Furious: Reviewing the Impacts of Violent and Sexualised Media on Children, to be held in Sydney on Fri 19 March.
I plan to attend all these events. i want to know of any more.
On receiving the newsletter from Women's Forum Australia I see they are taking their Faking It: The Female Image in Young Women's Magazines project into schools to teach high school girls about the impact of sexualised images of girls and women. They call for volunteers to bring the program to schools. Looks like Feminism 101. The work has been done - they just need to move the message. Reminds me of an online magazine called Frank (I met the creators a few years ago) - it was an alternative to the publications produced in the mainstream - I wonder if they could work together?
